Dorothy Provine

Dorothy Provine was an American singer, dancer, and actress who studied theater arts at the University of Washington and earned her degree there in 1957. She was born in Deadwood, South Dakota, and grew up in Seattle. Warner Bros. hired her in 1958, and she soon took the title part in The Bonnie Parker Story. During the 1960s she appeared in the television series The Alaskans and The Roaring Twenties, and she recorded songs from the show, two of which reached the UK Singles Chart. Her best-known film role came as Emeline Marcus-Finch in Stanley Kramer's comedy It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963). Other movies included The 30 Foot Bride of Candy Rock (1959), Good Neighbor Sam (1964), The Great Race (1965), That Darn Cat! (1965), and Who's Minding the Mint? (1967). She also acted in Kiss the Girls and Make Them Die and Never a Dull Moment.
