Brandon Maggart

Brandon Maggart is an American actor, painter and writer whose career began in the early 1950s while he was a student at the University of Tennessee, where he sang with the Knoxville Symphony and earned a Grace Moore Award that took him to New York City. There he won a Theatre World Award for the musical revue Put it in Writing, and in 1969 he played Buddy in the first season of Sesame Street. A 1970 Tony nomination followed for his featured role in Applause. On screen he was Cleveland Sam in Dressed to Kill (1980) and starred as Harry Stadling in Christmas Evil (1980), and he later appeared in The World According to Garp, the sitcom Jennifer Slept Here and the Showtime comedy Brothers, as eldest brother Lou Waters from 1984 to 1989, earning four CableACE Award nominations. He has since focused on painting and writing.
