Beulah Quo
Biography
Beulah Quo was an American actress who worked in film and television from the mid-1950s, appearing in more than 100 roles on the small screen and in movies. Born in Stockton, California, she was teaching sociology at a Los Angeles community college when the director Henry King hired her, expecting an Asian dialect coach, for a small part in Love is a Many-Splendored Thing (1953), her first film. She became best known for her long stint as Olin, a housekeeper and confidante, on General Hospital, a role she began playing in 1985 and kept for six years, and for the films Chinatown (1974) and Brokedown Palace (1999). Her later credits included Forbidden City (2001) and a 2002 episode of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. She was nominated for an Emmy in 1978 for Meeting of Minds and received a lifetime achievement award from Asian Pacific American Artists in 1990.
