Bart Patton

Bart Patton is an American actor, producer, and director. Born in Culver City, California, he started as Scampy the Clown on Super Circus under the name Bardy Patton, then appeared in television shows such as 77 Sunset Strip and replaced Burt Reynolds on Riverboat. He attended UCLA, where he met Francis Ford Coppola and worked on a student film, but dropped out to make Gidget Goes Hawaiian. Coppola cast him in Dementia 13 (1963), which introduced him to Roger Corman and Jack Hill. He later moved into production on Jack Hill's Spider Baby, working as production manager and assistant director, and Corman had him produce extra footage for television releases. Corman financed his first producing effort, Beach Ball. A 1965 Universal and MCA contract led to Wild Wild Winter and Out of Sight. He also produced Coppola's The Rain People and directed his first film, Unshackled, in 2000.
