Anna Schafer

Anna Schafer is an actress who grew up in the Russian countryside and moved to Los Angeles while working as a model. There she studied with Michelle Danner at Larry Moss Studios. Her first major break was a supporting part in the indie comedy Father of Invention (2010), appearing with Kevin Spacey. She then appeared in the political thriller The Whistleblower, alongside Rachel Weisz, Monica Bellucci, and Vanessa Redgrave, with Larysa Kondracki directing. Her first leading role came in the independent thriller Flutter, with Luke Evans, Billy Zane, and Joe Anderson. In The Trials of Cate McCall (2013), she played a powerful role alongside Kate Beckinsale and Nick Nolte under director Karen Moncrieff. She also starred in Elizabeth Blue as a young woman dealing with severe mental health issues, a performance that drew praise from Variety, the Los Angeles Times, and The Hollywood Reporter.
