Aleksandr Domogarov
Biography
Aleksandr Domogarov is an actor who was born in Moscow and initially planned to become an engineer rather than follow his actor father onto the stage. He entered the Schepkin Theater School on his first attempt and made his stage debut at the Maly State Academic Theater. His theater roles have included Macbeth, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Vaslav Nijinsky in the play Nijinsky, God's Crazy Clown. His screen work includes more than 20 films and television series made in Russia and Europe. In 1996 he took the part of Count Bussy D'Ambois in the Russian television series Grafinya de Monsoro (1998), which brought him all-Russian fame. He played the Cossack chieftain Bohun in Jerzy Hoffman's historical epic With Fire and Sword (1999), earning international acclaim. He later appeared in the Swedish thriller The Diver (2000) opposite Klaus Maria Brandauer and Isabella Scorupco, and in Andrzej Wajda's One June Night (2001).
