A first
Andoh co-directed Richard II with Lynette Linton at Shakespeare's Globe in 2019. The UK had never before seen the play staged with a cast made up entirely of women of color.
Beyond film
Andoh has lent her voice to more than 150 audiobooks. She also spent time in the BBC's Radio Drama Company and recorded one audio book version of Alexander McCall Smith's The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series.
A change of course
Andoh attended Katharine Lady Berkeley's School, then began a law course at Bristol Polytechnic. She quit that course after two years to become an actor.
Beyond film
Andoh took the lead in Richard III in 2023 and also directed it, with performances at Liverpool Playhouse and Rose Theatre Kingston. She was the cast's only Black actress, a decision made to reflect the title character's Otherness.
Behind the camera
Andoh is a co-director of Swinging the Lens, a production company she runs with her friend and publicist Juanne Fuller. The company's aim is to tell outlier or less viewed stories, the ones on roads less trodden.
