Adam Greydon Reid
Biography
Adam Greydon Reid is a Canadian performer who also writes, produces and directs. Born in Ottawa, he studied film at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, where his graduating short, Token for your Thoughts, won him the Norman Jewison Filmmaker's Award. Touring with the comedy troupe The Komic Kazes led to his first screen role, in the Kids in the Hall feature Brain Candy (1996), and a Toyota commercial he starred in won a Gold Lion at Cannes in 2000. He has appeared in movies, television movies and series including My Date with the President's Daughter, Ham & Cheese, Psych and When Love Is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story (2010), and voiced cartoons such as 6Teen and Total Drama. He directed children's shows like Ghost Trackers and The Adrenaline Project, completed a documentary on Marion Woodman in 2009, and created the web series Hospital Show in 2019.

Early training
Reid studied film at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. His graduating short, Token for your Thoughts, earned him the Norman Jewison Filmmaker's Award.
First role
Reid performed on tour with The Komic Kazes, a Canadian comedy troupe, while also directing commercials, music videos and shorts. That led to his first film role, in Brain Candy, the Kids in the Hall feature from 1996.
Behind the award
In 2000, Reid starred in a 90-second Toyota theatrical spot as a commercial director who was pretentious and insecure, and it won a Gold Lion at the Cannes International Advertising Festival.

Between 2002 and 2006, Reid led a film mentorship program at Eva's Phoenix, a youth shelter in Toronto. He directed the two short films it made, One Dollar One Day and Sheltered Life.

In 2009, Reid completed Marion Woodman: Dancing in the Flames, his first documentary. It debuted in sold-out bookings at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York and the Vancouver International Film Festival.
