Plot summary
Months after communism ends, Jacek Waldemar comes back to Poland and finds Gdansk poor, messy and short of work. He starts the coast's first private radio station. Marceli Słomiński, director of the state broadcaster's local station, has so far paid no attention to whether anyone listens to his programs. Listeners decide where the advertising money goes, so Waldemar campaigns hard for them.
