Plot summary
Ed Harley was a boy in 1957 when he watched a man take shelter at his father Tom's cabin and get caught and killed by a monster. Now a widower, he runs a small country store and raises his young son, Billy. Six teenage campers on their way to a cabin stop by, and while Harley is away on an errand their dirt bikes leave Billy mortally hurt. The witch Haggis tells Harley she cannot wake the dead, so he asks for revenge instead. She warns that vengeance carries a terrible price, then sends him to an old mountain graveyard for a corpse, and with blood from father and son she raises it as a spindly demon the locals call Pumpkinhead.
