Peculiarities of the National Fishing (1998) on Netflix

Plot summary

Three friends, General Ivolgin, huntsman Kuzmich and Lyova Soloveichik, plan a fishing vacation and load a large amount of vodka aboard their boat. They sail off, quickly lose their way and put in at a shore they believe is still Russia; that shore lies in neighboring Finland. The friends pass some time on land and fall asleep. Under the effects of the drink they had taken earlier, they set sail again without their vodka and their fishing equipment, which stay behind on the shore in another country. The three are left with the job of recovering their belongings from across the border.
