Plot summary
Göran Skoogh and Sven Skoogh are married and have settled into a house in a Swedish suburb, where they hold a party to meet the neighbors. No country will let a gay couple adopt, but a Swedish orphan becomes available and they agree to take him, expecting a small child named Patrik. A typo in the placement papers turns his age of 15 into 1.5, so the boy who arrives is a fifteen-year-old with a criminal record. The agency cannot correct the error until the following week. Patrik is frightened of living with two gay men, and Sven is appalled by his insults, while Göran is more willing to give the boy a chance.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- While writing the film, director Ella Lemhagen interviewed the first Swedish gay couple given permission to adopt, in 2003; by 2010 they were still waiting to actually adopt a child.
- Director Ella Lemhagen disliked the script of the stage play the film is technically based on, so she kept only the film's pitch and built up a new story from scratch.
