Plot summary
Joey Larabito served six years for a burglary that ended with a shop owner dead, a killing the wounded man blamed on him, and the assaults he suffered inside left him scarred in body and mind. He is set on never returning a prison. Out on release he goes to his elder brother, Tommy, and meets Tommy's wife, Lorraine, who is skeptical about his staying in their home and at first wary of him. He finds that Tommy has taken up dealing drugs, which puts the future Joey wants at risk. Lorraine's wariness fades as she and Joey grow close.
