Plot summary
Late one night a small alien craft is knocked off course by an asteroid and crashes near Perry Hall, Maryland. Hunters hear it come down and call county sheriff Cinder; they drive out to look for themselves, and the pilot steps from the wreck and turns a disintegrator ray on them. The beast goes on to attack a couple inside their house and a family traveling by car. Cinder brings deputies and armed residents, among them Jamie, to face it, but the ray cuts down the men who stand with him, and bullets do nothing to the creature. The next morning the department begins clearing the town, but Mayor Bert Wicker refuses to call off his party for Governor Embry.

Abrams worked on Nightbeast as a 16-year-old, scoring the film after becoming aware of director Don Dohler through his articles in the magazine Cinemagic and exchanging correspondence with him; living in Los Angeles, Abrams mailed the tapes to Dohler while the film was shot in Baltimore, Maryland.
- Nightbeast has become a cult film and is briefly seen playing on a television in Panos Cosmatos' 2018 film Mandy.
