Plot summary
On July 21, 1969, a robotic eye rises out of the lunar soil and watches the Apollo 11 landing module lift off. Twenty years later, the Space Shuttle Camelot comes across an abandoned craft adrift in orbit around Earth, and mission commander Colonel Jason Grant goes outside to investigate. He brings back a reddish-brown pod and the mummified remains of a person. Scientists determine that both came from the Moon roughly fourteen thousand years ago. The shuttle returns home with them, and the equipment begins to behave strangely. Left unattended in the lab, the pod comes to life and builds a cybernetic body for itself from lab parts and pieces of the ancient corpse.
