Plot summary
Yunhee and her teenage daughter Saebom share a home in the Korean countryside after Yunhee's divorce. Saebom finds an old love letter addressed to her mother and written by Jun, a woman of Korean and Japanese background whom Yunhee knew in her school years. The relationship belongs to the past and has stayed a deep secret, but Saebom notices how lonely her mother is and wants to ease it. Once she finishes high school, she pushes for a trip to Japan to mark the occasion, since she knows Jun lives in Otaru, a quiet village under snow. There Yunhee goes to Jun's home but cannot bring herself to approach it.
