Plot summary
Steven Gerrard plays for Liverpool FC during years when the club's success and its trophies are declining. He becomes perhaps the greatest player in its history, and he takes on the personal mission of returning the club to the top. His loyalty to Liverpool raises him to God-like status with its supporters. That standing is an unbearable burden for him. It brings a profound sense of responsibility, because he has to live up to the expectations of the fans and to his own expectations as well.
