Plot summary
Stevie Horowitz, a young filmmaker, comes to Hollywood producer J.P. Shelldrake with a movie he wants to sell. Shelldrake owes the IRS millions in back taxes, and his accountant proposes that he write off the costs of a release only if it flops, so the producer agrees to screen Stevie's picture. In that film, Mars is leaking air, and the King of Mars orders the dreaded Lobster Man, along with Mombo, a gorilla in a space helmet, to fly a saucer to Earth and take its air. John and Mary find the saucer hidden in a cave and try to warn the authorities, who pay them no attention. They turn to Professor Plocostomos, and a plan takes shape around Mr. Throckmorton's haunted house.
