Plot summary
The environmental, economic and social problems facing the world can seem too overwhelming for individuals to deal with, and the film asks whether governments alone can manage them. It follows people in New Zealand who are changing how they live and what their communities do, aiming at a sustainable and regenerative way of life. Forest gardens, composting toilets, community supported agriculture and timebanking are among the approaches shown. Interviews with experts in ecology and engineering explain how the present situation came about, and the film sets out to generate discussion about how each person views the future and their own part in it.
