Plot summary
In January 2011, along the Mississippi River in downtown St. Louis, a filmmaker discovers a tent city. He spends several weeks there, volunteering and meeting the residents, then asks whether he can shoot video. They say yes. Daytime visits will not show the full reality of life there, so he decides to move in with them. The camp holds people of different races, ages and beliefs, and they have to live together to keep their homes standing. A common feeling among them is that they prefer the camp to a homeless shelter. Some hold jobs, drive cars or are in relationships, and for them this place is simply a different kind of home.
