Plot summary
Dr. Irwin Burns leads a genetics laboratory that breeds Seth, a thirty-foot hybrid of an African king cobra and an Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake. A chemical explosion destroys the lab and frees the snake into the forest outside the town of Filmore. Two years on, the town prepares for its annual lager festival, which its economy depends on. Snake-bitten bodies appear near the woods, with puncture wounds and severe envenomation that match no local wildlife, and town physician Dr. Brad Kagen and police chief Jo Biddle look into the deaths.
