Plot summary
Kaleche comes to in a barren wilderness with no memory of her life, her identity, or how she arrived. She reaches Kati Kati, a lodge nearby, where a group of strangers led by Thoma tells her that she is dead and that she cannot leave. Kaleche takes to the lodge and its comforts, though each resident, she sees, still carries something from a life before. Mikey, a recent graduate who plays basketball and has harmed himself in the past, cannot let go of his mother. Kaleche grows curious about King, the lodge's reclusive painter. Among the others are Grace, Anto, Jojo, Bill and Timo.
