Plot summary
Maggie, a widow of 60, watches her grandson Olly grow weaker in a hospital bed. His last opportunity is a treatment in Australia, but the family must cover the journey and their stay, and Olly has six weeks before he is too weak to travel. His parents, Tom and Sarah, cannot raise the money that fast. Maggie has sold her home, and the bank refuses her a loan because she has no job, no way to repay it and no home as collateral. Looking for work in Soho, she reads a notice seeking a hostess at a shop called Sexy World. Miki, who owns it, tells her the post means giving hand-jobs through a hole in the wall, and her colleague Luisa shows her how. Maggie takes the name Irina Palm and hides the work from family and friends.
