Plot summary
A conservation biologist recruits two companions for an expedition along the Okavango River. One is a bushman of the river who fears that his past is slipping away; the other is a young scientist who has doubts about her future. Their journey covers roughly 1,500 miles over four months and crosses Angola, Botswana and Namibia, through landscapes that are unexplored and dangerous. The purpose is to protect Botswana's wildlife and to preserve the Okavango Delta, which UNESCO recognizes as a World Heritage Site. Shot mostly in Angola and Botswana, the film drew praise for its portrayal of wildlife.
