Plot summary
In drought-stricken Namanga, Kenya, water and food are running out. Jack Ringtree finds a young girl alone in the wilderness and brings her to the local school. He asks mining outpost owner Chris Tucker for water and is refused, and Jack's wife Lee arrives that night. Baboons begin attacking people: a local boy is kidnapped and a miner is mauled. Jack and Chris seek help from district officer Tshombe, asking him to evacuate the town to Nairobi, but he dismisses them; Jack's appeal in Nairobi also fails. With 90,000 starving baboons now hunting humans, the residents of Namanga must find a way to survive on their own.
