Honnouji Hotel (2017) on Netflix

Plot summary

Mayuko Kuramoto travels to Kyoto while she considers marrying her boyfriend, Kyoichi Yoshioka. The hotel she booked has no room for her, and she ends up at a small, old inn standing close to where the Honnō-ji incident took place, which has one room free. On the elevator up, she eats a piece of konpeitō candy. The candy carries her to the temple the inn is named for, in feudal Japan, where her presence is unexplained and dangerous. She makes the journey more than once. On those visits she becomes friends with the warlord Oda Nobunaga, who is trying to unify Japan.
