Plot summary
Philippa teaches English at a school in Turin, where several of her students have died of drug-related causes. She learns that one local cartel supplied all of them. She gives the Carabinieri the names of its leaders and asks them to step in; nothing happens. She then builds a bomb for the office of the businessman who runs the ring. A cleaner empties the bin she leaves it in, and it goes off inside an elevator, killing four people. The Carabinieri arrest Philippa and bring her to their station, where Filippo, a young clerk, translates her confession for his superiors. He falls in love with her.

- Co-screenwriter Krzysztof Kieślowski intended Heaven to be the first part of a trilogy, the second being Hell (2005) and the third to be titled Purgatory, but he died before he could complete the project.
