Plot summary

Researchers and spiritual teachers argue that thoughts, beliefs and emotions shape health, that genes are not destiny and that the body can do more than patients are usually told. Elizabeth Craig, who began having headaches and nausea, was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer and works with the spiritual therapist Dianne Porchia. Eva Lee developed rashes and boils, was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and looked for an alternative to medication. Anita Moorjani describes her lymphoma and believes that fear caused it, and Joe Dispenza, a chiropractor injured by a car while competing in a triathlon, describes declining surgery. Stress in modern life, the placebo effect and meditation are also discussed.
