Plot summary
Holy Moses, a rock band led by singer and bassist Jessie, is told by its manager Ron that a performance in a small conservative California town could win them a record deal with executive Don Matson. Before the band leaves, Jessie meets a girl named Cassie, who urges him to stay away from the town. On the road they meet Elsa, who talks them into spending the weekend at her family's mansion. The townspeople greet the group with hostility, warn them against playing, and the sheriff jails them until Cassie posts bail. A town council meeting then passes a law banning rock 'n' roll, and Cassie's father takes up a shotgun. Jessie has been writing a song from an ancient Latin text that is said to raise the dead.
