Plot summary
Can and his mother, Derya, live an ordinary life in the country. Derya's behavior changes: she appears to lose her memory and speaks in ancient languages. Her son begins to wonder about her childhood. He and Derya travel to her hometown in the Aegean region of Turkey. A local imam helps Can find Asaf, a practitioner of ancient Jewish mysticism. Asaf works to break curses and cast out evil spirits.
