Plot summary
Assigned to a village she has never seen, the young teacher Ayşin has only what her internet research turned up, including frightening accounts of jinns in its past. Before she goes, her friends throw her a farewell party, where talk of the subject becomes an argument and then a cup session meant to summon jinns, and the evening turns tense and frightening. She reaches the village only at night, after a journey of uneasy and mysterious moments, and stays as a guest with Fatma Ana, who tells her the village is preparing for a wedding. On the first night she falls asleep and wakes to live the same night again, and the nights that follow are filled with nightmares so convincing she cannot tell them from reality.
