Plot summary
Gaston arrives at the Peticoin start-up as an intern, a laidback handyman with good intentions and a talent for annoying Prunelle, his boss. He spends his days on inventions and gadgets, among them the Flat Vid Phone, and a cat, a seagull, a cow and a gaffophone are never far from the mishaps he leaves behind him. His colleagues watch their working lives change as a result, since little in the office runs as it did before he came. Mr. de Mesmaeker intends to buy the Peticoin start-up, and Gaston's gaffes keep piling up in the middle of the working day.

- Théo Fernandez, who plays Gaston Lagaffe, was reportedly hired because he had fallen asleep during a casting for a Gérard Jugnot film; the Gaston casting was being held one floor above, so director Pierre-François Martin-Laval was told a young man there might interest him and gave him the part.
- Isabelle Franquin, Franquin's daughter, said she held only moral rights over her father's work and had been unable to prevent anything, and that she had disavowed the first version of the script.
