Plot summary
Mangaladevi is a coastal town in the grip of gang violence, and its underworld answers to Hari and Shiva. Hari is a local turning into a politically connected kingpin. Shiva, at twelve, is found in a well, a sack around him and his neck cut, and Hari's mother raises him as Hari's brother. Scarred by that childhood, Shiva explodes at any threat to the people he loves, and Hari turns that rage into muscle for his criminal rise. A straight-arrow police officer, Brahmaiah, is posted to the town. When Hari draws close to Raviraj, a senior gangster and businessman, Shiva is left feeling shut out, picks street fights, and Hari, who sees a liability, keeps his distance.
