Plot summary
Charley Brewster, Amy Peterson and Ed Bates are exchange students spending a semester in Romania, where Charley is trying to patch things up with Amy. On their first night, he sees one woman draw blood from another in a building across from the hotel. The woman is Gerri Dandridge, the professor who will teach their class on Romanian history and culture. During a tour of nearby castles, Charley watches Gerri lead a fellow student away, and that student goes missing. Ed tells him that Gerri is Elizabeth Báthory, a vampire who has survived for generations, and the pair track down Peter Vincent, host of the paranormal show Fright Night, who agrees to help them for a fee.

- Filming Fright Night 2: New Blood in Romania across November-December 2012, temperatures sat around -15 degrees Fahrenheit: cameras froze and stopped working, cast and crew shivered constantly, the gas station explosion had to be shot in a studio for fire-safety reasons, and during a swimming-pool scene actresses Sacha Parkinson and Jaime Murray were so cold that the filmmakers halted production.
- The home-video release of Fright Night 2: New Blood came in rated and unrated versions, with the rated version running 31 seconds shorter and losing 5 cuts of explicit gore and nudity from the scene in which Gerri lures a local woman into her lair.
