Plot summary
Félix, twelve, lives on the Magdalen Islands with his mother and his baby sister, Mia, since his father failed to come home from a voyage in search of treasure on the Island of Eternal Night. His mother leaves on a cruise, and the children are placed in the care of their aunt. Félix slips away from her watch, brings along his cat, Rover, who behaves like a dog, and persuades Tom, the old lighthouse keeper, to take him to the island. Tom's parrot, Squawk, who has one leg, comes along. Legend says that a spider named Morgäa keeps a priceless treasure there, and that a secret society lives in an underground city beneath the island, led by a megalomaniac who shares the spider's name.
