Plot summary
Because the Philippines has no divorce law, Joy San Pedro and her husband Cedric Hermoso remain legally married long after they separate. Joy has raised their daughter SC on her own. At a Valentine's dinner, SC's boyfriend Joey proposes, and SC accepts, then asks that both of her parents walk her down the aisle. Joy reluctantly travels to Malta, where Ced lives and works, to bring him home. Their reunion carries unresolved tensions and old grievances. Joy and Ced agree to return to the Philippines together and quietly persuade SC to reconsider the rushed engagement, hoping to keep her from repeating their own mistakes.
