Plot summary
Lee Jeok-yo is a poet in his seventies who is honored in his country, and Seo Ji-woo, a man in his thirties, is his disciple and assistant. Ji-woo's first book, a psychological genre novel, has reached the top of the bestseller lists. Jeok-yo finds Han Eun-gyo, a seventeen-year-old high school student, sleeping on his porch, and hires her to clean his home part time. He is enamored at once. Her exuberance, her sense of fun and her warmth toward him wake feelings he had lost, and he starts to write a short story about an imagined sexual relationship with her.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Eungyo (2012)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Kim Go-eun, a Korea National University of Arts drama major who had never appeared in a film or TV series before, was cast as the schoolgirl Eun-gyo from among some 300 actresses after meeting director Jung Ji-woo through friends in 2011; she had not even known auditions were being held.
- Director Jung Ji-woo cast Park Hae-il as the 70-year-old poet instead of an older actor, because he thought a much younger actor would deliver the theme of wanting something after your youth is gone more effectively.
- To play the elderly poet, Park Hae-il observed old men in Pagoda Park, then spent eight hours a day in special make-up and learned the weary gait and gestures of a man in his 70s.
- The final line of Eun-gyo, whom director Jung Ji-woo also made a victim of domestic violence, was written by Jung and does not exist in Park Bum-shin's novel: "I never knew how pretty I was (until I met you)."
- Upon its release, Eungyo attracted controversy for its depiction of sex between a 70-year-old man and a high school-aged girl.
