Plot summary

In the 1780s a French royalist soldier, Claude Pinoche, is found to be a vampire, and an attempt to kill him fails. He fakes his death and flees, and in 1935 he reaches Chile, joining the army as Augusto Pinochet. He takes power in 1973. After leaving office he fakes his death again and retires to a remote farm, where he loses the will to live. His wife Lucía and his butler Fyodor, a vampire he made, worry about him. The Pinochet children hire Carmen, a nun, to exorcise Augusto while auditing the family's wealth.
