Plot summary
Liane and Ben are approaching twenty years of marriage, and they mean to spend the anniversary together in Lisbon. For most of that time the two have led separate lives: Liane has stayed home with the children, while Ben, an architect, travels the world putting up luxury hotels. With the children grown and gone, the pair hope to have more of each other again. Ben's work intrudes; a project keeps him in Morocco, so he cannot meet his wife at the Lisbon airport. He asks his Portuguese friend João to come in his place, and João takes the assignment seriously. Liane enjoys the company of the new man beside her.
