Plot summary
A lightning bolt hits the Millennium Building in New York City, a tower of 102 floors served by 73 elevators. Three express cars begin to act strangely, and a guard's flashlight is crushed. Pregnant women riding in one cab are held between floors 21 and 22 as it overheats; two give birth there, and the rest go to a hospital. Reporter Jennifer Evans is assigned to write about it. Technicians from the METEOR elevator company examine the cars and find nothing wrong.
