Door (1988) on Netflix

Plot summary

Spam calls and salesmen at the door wear on Yasuko Honda, a housewife in a high-rise apartment she shares with Satoru, her husband, and their son Takuto. One morning, while she is on the phone with a friend, a salesman rings the bell and tries to pass a pamphlet through the chained door; she crushes his fingers in it and refuses to let him in. He leaves, then comes back and kicks at the door. A neighbor watches and stays out of it. Calls in the same voice follow, and a message is written on her door. When she reports the harassment, the police send her away because she cannot name or describe the man.
