Plot summary
Annie, whose life is one of make-believe, has a gift for moving through life with beauty and allure, and her fabrications are powerful enough that she cannot always keep them apart from what is real. Not all of her plans work the way she wants. Lahore, Pakistan's cultural capital, is the setting for a light romance with fantasy in it, an idealized version of the world with the unpleasant parts magicked away. She moves through a series of encounters with eccentric people until she comes across Billa, an ambitious rickshaw driver with quick wits, and their meeting begins a journey for them both.
