Plot summary
Ethiopia's government hands millions of hectares of farmland to investors from other countries, counting on export income from the land. It presents that land as unused. The people who farm it are displaced, and demonstrations against the transfers are suppressed by force. The documentary follows the subject across Addis Ababa, Bale Province and Gambela, and also to the United States and to a refugee camp in South Sudan. Investors, development officials, World Bank staff, an Ethiopian reporter, environmentalists, a human rights defender and displaced farmers appear.
