Plot summary

Almost every parcel of land on earth has been bought by Persona Century, a corporation that does not tolerate dissent and deals swiftly with those who oppose it. Only a handful of places have escaped its reach, among them the free town of Kabuki-cho, known as the Dark Side of Tokyo. There Mai leads a small resistance group, Messiah. A man arrives in Kabuki-cho and takes the district's name for himself: Darkside. Eighteen years earlier Persona Century had sealed him inside another dimension; now he is back, and he brings a mystic power of renewal that he uses to aid Mai's group.
