Plot summary
In 1950s East Africa, Geoff Armstrong and his wife Elizabeth operate a large sugar plantation. Elizabeth and her sister come upon local tribespeople sacrificing a goat and step in to save the animal. The witch doctor retaliates by placing a curse on the whole Armstrong family and raising an ancient demon from the sea. The demon, armed with a curved African machete called a panga, begins hunting them and anyone in its way. Family members start to disappear, apparently taken by the creature now hiding in the sugar cane fields. Elizabeth asks Dr. Pearson for help, hoping he can find a way to break the curse before she and Geoff become its next victims.
