Plot summary
In South Africa in 1980, Patrick Chamusso is a foreman at Secunda, a synthetic fuel refinery and the largest plant of its kind, and coaches soccer in his spare time. He keeps out of politics and lives with his wife, Precious. When a bombing strikes the refinery, Colonel Nic Vos of the police is put in charge of finding whoever carried it out. Patrick cannot give a clear account of where he was at the time, so Vos and his men come for him, and Patrick, Precious and their family are held and questioned. The injustice turns an apolitical worker toward the anti-apartheid struggle.
