Plot summary
During the 1988 competition in Seoul, Greg Louganis comes down toward the water, hits the diving board and cuts his head open. Once he splashes in, the years behind him return. He was a boy whom neighborhood children ridiculed, and he grew up with an adoptive father, Pete, who was overbearing and did not accept him. He came up through the sport to the Olympic level, winning a silver medal, the 1982 world championship, and two gold medals at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. He was also in an abusive relationship with Tom Barrett. Doctors in Seoul stitch the head wound.
