Plot summary
A body is found on the sign that marks the Ontario-Quebec border, and neither the Ontario Provincial Police nor the Sûreté du Québec wants the case. The dead man is Benoit Brisset, a hockey executive. The two forces assign detectives to work the murder jointly: David Bouchard, a rule-bending francophone with the Sûreté du Québec, and Martin Ward, a by-the-book anglophone with the Ontario Provincial Police. The pair have to resolve their professional and cultural differences, along with their bigotry and prejudices, to work the case together.
