Plot summary
Sweeney Todd is a barber in London, and Mrs. Lovett is his neighbor, the owner of a pie shop. Together they carry out a scheme: the customers who come to Todd for a shave are killed, and the meat from their bodies goes into the pies that Mrs. Lovett bakes and sells to the public. Tobias Ragg, who works in the pie shop, assists the pair. The film takes the old legend of Sweeney Todd and sets it in a more recent time. A romantic subplot runs through the story, though the killings and their gore are what the telling dwells on.
