Plot summary
In a time before Mata Nui, the Toa of Metru Nui fall one by one to a shadow that wants the city. Lhikan, the last of them, crosses the city to hand stones holding part of his power to six Matoran: Nokama, Onewa, Whenua, Matau, Nuju and Vakama. Dark Hunters Nidhiki and Krekka capture Lhikan. The six meet at the Great Temple and become Toa. Vakama sees the city destroyed in a vision, and they set out to gather the six Great Disks, hoping to show Turaga Dume they are worthy. Dume calls their gifts simple and sets a test instead; when they fail, he names them imposters and sends the Vahki, the city's law enforcers, after them.
